League 2 is probably a better standard then some of the teams in the first two rounds

I am saying it makes more sense to sell Maiga and improve the squad then keep him for 6 games where we have other players that are more then capable of doing that job. He has had his chance and has shown nothing, these early rounds can be used to give Lee some game time and to aid his development.

Re: Modibo Maiga
Lee, who's been playing in England's fourth tier is a better option than someone who's been playing well in Ligue 1?

Zarate, who was useless at QPR as well, besides being a tantrum prone tart?

Just goes to show you how illogical some people are over Maiga.

Well it seems the Rodent, scab will lose all faith in Bilic if he brings him back.........

Re: Modibo Maiga
He doesn't strike me as the type who is going to be up for a (very) bit part role.

Rossal 1:00 Tue Jun 16
Re: Modibo Maiga
There will be 4 maybe 6 games against small minnows

No reason why Lee or Zarate can't play in them

Pointless keeping his wages and transfer fee for 6 games

Darby_ 12:56 Tue Jun 16
Re: Modibo Maiga
So a player who does well at the top level in France isn't good enough to play against European minnows?

greenie1 12:53 Tue Jun 16
Re: Modibo Maiga
Give him a go in the European games? we want to win those don't we??

Rossal 12:51 Tue Jun 16
Re: Modibo Maiga
Tell him and his agent he can train for fitness but he should focus on finding a new club

His value at the moment is probably the highest its been since he joined us, cash in and use the funds elsewhere

The best he can hope for is the odd start here and there and that looks miiles off unless Slavens coaching staff are miracle workers

PastyTime 12:51 Tue Jun 16
Re: Modibo Maiga
I cant see it working out here. He's always looked pretty terrible in English football, both at WHU and QPR. Can't see Bilic or a potential change playing style making that much of difference.
That said I don't think Valencia has looked much better, personally.

collyrob 12:51 Tue Jun 16
Re: Modibo Maiga
So if maiga scores against some part timers from Faroe Islands we should keep him and not sign another striker?

collyrob 12:50 Tue Jun 16
Re: Modibo Maiga
No problem with him training but I wouldn't waste our time giving Him game time. Id rather lee get some minutes over maiga.

Darby_ 12:49 Tue Jun 16
Re: Modibo Maiga
I'd give him a go in the European games and make a decision based on that and how he's going in training.

The player is under contract to West Ham, so are you suggesting he shouldn't be allowed to train and do his job he's paid for until his future is sorted out?

collyrob 12:46 Tue Jun 16
Re: Modibo Maiga
For the people who want to keep maiga? What forwards should we get rid of?

Or should we keep Sakho carroll valencia Zarate maiga and lee and not bring any other striker in?

Rossal 12:37 Tue Jun 16
Re: Modibo Maiga
Get rid

The transfer fee, wages and time spent on teaching him how to be half decent would all be better spent elsewhere

As Glenn said below you can't polish a turd. He has had a spell here and two loan spells were he has not shown once he would be of any use to us. How many more chances do some people want him to have ?

Alwaysaniron 12:33 Tue Jun 16
Re: Modibo Maiga
Play him in the early rounds of the cup and if he is in scoring form then that'll be in our benefit. We're not using our key strikers too early in the season and if he scores a few he's either in the shop window or trying to make a go of it (although I'm like a load on here and think he's just not going to cut it).

collyrob 12:30 Tue Jun 16
Re: Modibo Maiga
I think it's pretty clear he means, involving him in our squad rather than trying to flog him.

"But I will raise an eyebrow if he brings Maiga back in."

What do you actually mean by bringing Maiga back in then?

Re: Modibo Maiga

Well then give him a new contract, he's fucking amazing.

Even shit players have a good game once in a while.

I've seen him play for 4 different teams and I haven't seen anything to suggest he could make it in the premiership. Cut our losses move on,

Re: Modibo Maiga
I'd like to think the gaffer would get everyone in and have a good look at all the players before deciding who he wants and who he doesn't, as opposed to looking at a few games on DVD from nearly three years ago.

Razzle 11:04 Tue Jun 16
Re: Modibo Maiga
what I saw of him he had a fifty pence piece foot...
I think we need to move in on.
It will be interesting to see how Valencia performs under Bilic.
What I saw of Valencia is that he often found himself isolated that is a symptom of tactics..He certainly has a stinging shot and would like to see him be a bit more prolific. He's had one season in the prem, so we will now see if he can cut it as there can be no excuses - i would like to him succeed.
